Yishensu

On Monday us non-STPMers went for dinner with our darlings who came back from Aussieland recently at Yishensu, a new vegetarian restaurant in One Utama. It's near TGIF, if you want to try it out. Food's not bad, price is average, for vegetarian food that is.

I've not seen them for so long!

Don't play play. Cannot spill the Tea King k. lol. (RM2.00 a person)

Emperor Tofu, RM16.00. Tofu's good, very smooth but taste-wise it was only so so. The sauce and topping lacked aroma.

"Chicken" with Golden Mushroom and Black Fungus. RM15.00. So-so.

Kangkung Belacan. RM 8.00. I don't take spicy food, so I've no idea how this tastes like.

I'm pointing to: White rice, RM2.00 a bowl.
Blurry foreground: Smoked "Duck". RM 18.00. Nice, but must be eaten with rice or it'll be too salty.

Fragrant Oat Flavoured "Prawn", RM 1.50 each (ehhhhh There were only 5 prawns meh?).
Good stuff. I prefer this over the real thing but that might be becouse I don't love prawn. Oh, and you don't have to worry about the shell. *pause* Hahahahhaha that is a must crack lame joke with me around.

Total price, including a 10% service charge and 5% gov. tax was RM104.08. Come April 2008, it would be RM104.10. See, I do know what's going on in our country.

Rubber bands can give you STD

Some time ago, I wrote about people recycling condoms as rubber bands.

Well, it may well be a true story.

Tue, Nov 13, 2007
AFP

"BEIJING - USED condoms are being recycled into hair bands in southern China, threatening to spread sexually-transmittable diseases they were originally meant to prevent, state media reported on Tuesday.

In the latest example of potentially harmful Chinese-made products, rubber hair bands have been found in local markets and beauty salons in Dongguan and Guangzhou cities in southern Guangdong province, China Daily newspaper said.

'These cheap and colourful rubber bands and hair ties sell well ... threatening the health of local people,' it said. Despite being recycled, the hair bands could still contain bacteria and viruses, it said.

'People could be infected with AIDS, (genital) warts or other diseases if they hold the rubber bands or strings in their mouths while waving their hair into plaits or buns,' the paper quoted a local dermatologist who gave only his surname, Dong, as saying.

A bag of ten of the recycled bands sells for just 25 fen (4 Singapore cents), much cheaper than others on the market, accounting for their popularity, the paper said.

A government official was quoted as saying recycling condoms was illegal.

China's manufacturing industry has been repeatedly tarnished this year by a string of scandals involving shoddy or dangerous goods made for both domestic and foreign markets.

In response, it launched a public relations blitz this summer aimed at playing up efforts to strengthen monitoring systems."

Love you!

<3 you people! Damn the bug that keeps me away from you~~ =(

Samsung FEI Contest

Grrrr. I sent in at least 300 entries and all I got was the consolation prize.

Sigh. And I need a new phone.

Anyone want to watch a horse show with me on Sunday?

edit: Ok, Compared to the top 2 winners, I soooo didn't deserve getting anything. Coincidentally the top two winners were my primary school friend, Hock Jeen and his mom, and one of the consolation prize winners were his dad. 80K entries weh!

Oh, I'm still looking for someone to go watch some horsies jump and run on Sunday... or to go kai kai with oso can. =P

edit: No one wanted to go out with me. =(

Package from Finland

I joined a "My country doesn't have that" swap in Craftster recently and it's well worth the RM60.30 in postage to the US (Air mail's price suxxors!)

The one who was supposed to send me stuff was Trillian from Finland, and since fabric paint is so hard to find and expensive to boot, I requested for that.

The poor box. Either the plane went through a 5 hour storm or they played football during the loading.

Nyammm~! And my mom just told me to go on a diet yesterday.

Milk and white choco bar (edit: Makan-ed!! I miss white chocolate. Sigh), plus a white and blueberry chocolate bar. A little mushed, but definitely edible.

Gummies! Three big bags of them! Well, quite big la.
edit:hehe one of the dragster packets is officially empty.

Gummy bears beans and what I think is more chocolate. Either chocolate or sweets lah. Original, orange-mango and liquorice.

Hehehehehehe! So cute the packaging for the lolly! Heart shaped lolly somore.

Paint! I'm soooo happy with these man. Compare the sizes with that little bottle of black paint. That's the one I bought. RM17.50 I think, from Craft Haven. So if you want to calculate how much I "rugi"ed like my dad, I would say nothing. In fact, I untung-ed since the size of one bottle = two of mine, the paints alone would have cost me RM105, if I remember the price correctly.

Fused glass necklace! Handmade somore! Can't wait to wear it! Too bad Malaysia doesn't have the cheap material or kilns.

Eye on Malaysia

After less than 5 hours of sleep, I dragged my ass to the shower to meet up with James at A&W.
Reached, waited around for everyone abit, and off we went to Jeevan Home in Klang after meeting up with the bus.

Got wished a good morning by extremely polite kiddos, did the headcount, wrote some name tags and off we went to the Eye on Malaysia. Please note, it's the Eye on Malaysia, not Eye of Malaysia. We only ciplak movies, songs and credit cards, not Ferris wheels.

The normal ticket price for adults is RM15 while for children between 3 and 12 and also senior citizens (55 and above) tickets are RM8 each. If you're going as a family, they do have a family package for 2 adults and 3 kids (RM 12 x 2 + RM6.40 x 3). If you want a private gondola, or if you have a group of 8 adults, it would cost RM100 while the VIP gondola will set you back RM200, with a maximum of 4 persons. What's so special? I have no idea, but I do know that you get a "free" soft drink.

Since we were a group of about 30, and the majority are orphans, Ying May contacted the Eye people in advance and got us a special price. How much I'm not sure at the moment but if you're planning a similar trip, contact those in charge and enquire. Ask and you shall be given, to quote the most read book in the world.

First group pic of the day. Sigh. To own a cam with wide angle lens.

Gurunathan took this. He's like, 6?

My gondola. 4 kids, Nelson, myself.

Poor horsies were foaming at the mouth from the heat, or the bit.

After the 15 minute ride, a round of ice cream (RM2 per scoop, per BIG scoop) we got on the bus again to go for lunch at, you guessed it, A&W.

We were somewhat early, so we waited, and waited, until balloons came into the scene and well, if you were a balloon, you would call it torture and a massacre.

After eating, everyone attacked Mr. Bear. How's that for creativity. Oh, and yes, Ah Ma joined in.

Rotaractors and guests, with the only ex-Rotaractor Nelson behind the camera.

4 birds with one stone.

Celebrated 4 classmates birthdays last Friday. Wilson's was on the 9th, Kevin and Wai Kwan's on the 18th and darling Novie's coming on the 30th. It was at Flaming Steamboat, Sunway and if you want to try out that place, don't. The only thing nice was the staff calling to confirm the booking and their ice cream. Not worth the RM17.50 nett.

Nothing much happened, just the usual gather, eat, talk, pay, talk. Meet some new people (Wilson's friends) and oh, found out that Vee smokes. Tsk tsk Vee...

Don't have much photos with me as I didn't take that many. Didn't have the mood to camwhore. Surprised eh?

We ended up chit chatting until about midnight and I made it home just in time to watch Martha Stuart but even after her show I couldn't fall asleep but luckily it didn't really show the next day. =D

Telephone Etiquette

Some people don't know that the proper way to react after calling the wrong number is to simply apologise.

In fact, even though you unknowingly called the wrong number and a stranger picks up the phone, you should ANSWER and apologise, not keep quiet each time the stranger says "hello?".

Also, after KNOWING you got the wrong number, you should NOT call the SAME WRONG NUMBER FIVE TIMES and still NOT ANSWER.

Even sending a text message to the WRONG NUMBER to ask "Nie
Syazmeer eh?" is not the polite, or even smart thing to do since the owner of that WRONG NUMBER will have to waste 20 sen just to reply to your totally-can't-be-understood-slang-Malay-unless-you're-a-Gen Y-Malaysian text message.

Also, if you want to reply to the very angry text message sent by the owner of the WRONG NUMBER which was in proper, if slightly vulgar message telling you no, it's not f**king Syazmeer and next time freaking ask whether you got the wrong number instead of calling 28461982649812 times you should either reply in your totally-can't-be-understood-slang-Malay-unless-you're-a-Gen Y-Malaysian language or PROPER ENGLISH instead of "YOu're the fucking bitch men!".

It's MAN asshole, MAN!

Red Box

After what seems like a million years, I can finally upload photos to Blogger! Yay!

On Friday a group of us went for a karaoke session in Pyramid's Red Box. We were supposed to go for a BKT breakfast but the birthday boy was more than an hour late, so tak jadi.. =(

It was my first visit to Pyramid's Red Box, so I don't know what major changes there were but I do know that the normal TVs were changed to Plasma ones. For RM9.90++ which includes a drink, a meal and the use of the room, it was quite worth it. Don't order their "claypot" chicken though. It soooooo wasn't claypot but just white rice. -.-"

Pau, Abby, Me.

Birthday boy.

And again.

Poser.

"Please don't let it rain when I sing!"

All of us except CY.

Drive4Food

Star Newspapers recently held a Drive4Food contest. To enter, each team had to submit a video of their favourite food, eaterie or holiday destination through trusty ol' new Youtube and the top 10 finalists were then given money for their accommodation, petrol and toll together with a video camera to drive up to Penang and submit their video travelogue the next day.

The winners of the final round would be chosen by public voting and since it's free (everything's done online) and no signup's required (1 vote per computer) please vote for my two favourite teams!

You can vote for up to three teams, so remember, your votes should go to Fantastic Four and AppleCrumbleTeam and another team of your choice. If you don't want to vote for the third team, nevermind but remember Fantastic Four and AppleCrumbleTeam!!

Edit: You can vote once per pc PER DAY, so help me out yah!

KAMI

"KAMI follows the individual stories of a group of five friends and the events that lead them to find each other."

Iyer doesn't sound interesting right? But translate it to BM and see..

"KAMI adalah kisah persahabatan lima orang sahabat dan perjalanan mereka dalam menghadapi liku-liku kehidupan."

Fuh...way better.

For those of you not in Malaysia, KAMI is a 8 episode series which revolves around 5 individuals, who end up being the closest of friends. Lynn aka teka-teki, the budding writer with her own fanzine KAMI, Ali, the ex-doper fresh out of rehab into a new school with his parents' relationship on the rocks, Sofie the daughter to a bimbo-y mom (she reminds me alot of a friend actually, or rather, Sofie's bf reminds me of a friend's bf), Adii, Ali's cousin who has to cope with her mom's degrading hearing and Abu, kleptomaniac, joker, always in the shadow of his older brother, even after he dies.

The one thing that all of them have in common - home grown music, from One Buck Short to Bittersweet.

Explaining the movie in a single post would be hard, so go to 8tv.com.my where you can watch all 8 episodes online or you can come over quick and I transfer it to you. I downloaded from Youtube. =P

There are a few scenes which they could have changed the props a little to make everything more realistic, say, Vanilla Ais' msn contact list (it had only ONE name on it, and that's Adii's!), but everything's good~~

The story would continue with KAMI - the movie which is scheduled to come out in 2008.

ARghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

It's my fault for having everything ready 4 days in ADVANCE and still be late sending the parcel out becouse It's my fault I'm not allowed to drive.

It's my fault I'm stuck at home.

It's my fault you always "have" to leave in a hurry.

It's my fault you always get back too late.

It's my fault I couldn't find the stuff on my trips to the shops.

It's my fault the post office is closed.

Why it's all my fault? Becouse you say so.

God I need to scream now. But then it'll be my fault for irritating the neighbours.

And it's ALL YOUR FAULT for spoiling my perfect day.
