Chemicals in me

Ugh. I've so many things I need to start and complete by this weekend, but I just don't have the mood to do them.

Friday - Slides for my colloquium presentation.
Saturday - Finish everything I'll need for the presentation.
Monday - Lab report and experiment attendance list's due while a couple of hours later I have my graded mock presentation.
Following Friday - I've to set up my stuff for Poster Defence.
Following Saturday - That's the day I'll be presenting for Poster Defence and right after, my Research Presentation (Prizes for best presenter/best group's so yum yum!).
Friday after that - My group's anti-adolescence pregnancy thing's due, as well as Hannah's 21st birthday celebration.
Tuesday after that - Triad and counseling journals are due.
Thursday after that - FINALS!!!! (And Alvin's 21st birthday on the very first day of exams. Poor boy).

Die boh?

I've barely started anything. The most I've done for any of them is plan what I'm going to do. Period. Not even gotten started on a draft for any of them yet, and still stuck looking for more relevant journals for my lab report.

KNNCCBMCHWTF, to quote a friend.

Random but not so random photos

Ever since I confirmed my KK trip (read: paid for it) I've been thinking of a way to reduce the weight of my luggage, since I'll have to lug it around with me up and down the mountain.

My main concern is water, necessities like clothes, shoes, insect repellent and the one that weighs the most, my contact lens stuff. Even thinking of lugging around so much liquid makes my knees quiver.

My solutions?

Water: Look for the LifeStraw. If it's within budget, I plan to bring it up to my Rotaract club too. There are still a lot of people in Malaysia not having a stable clean water supply.

Necessities: Reduce reuse recycle. Planning to get a bunch of really thick, cheap socks too, so I can ditch them if my pack gets too heavy to handle. Hey, at least it's something.

Contact lens stuff: At first I thought of just bringing my spectacles, but after some thought (what if it breaks? It'll be cold and will definitely fog my lenses up) I decided against it. Once I saw a promotion for daily disposable lenses, I knew my answer. Hey, for RM10 a box, it's worth it.

Each box only had 5 lenses (not 5 pairs, but 5 individual lenses. Weird right?), so I had to buy two. Guess what I realised?

Before.

After.

Tsk tsk tsk. Selling stuff that specifically says FREE. NOT FOR SALE.

But at least I get a bargain. :D

Another story now. :D

My lilies dieded already.

:(

But they lasted for close to 10 days.

Sigh. I miss my beautiful lilies.

Jonjon's Bdayday dindin

There isn't a law passed against blog neglect, is there? I'll be so guilty of it if there was one.

To make up for the lack of updates, here's a reallyyyy long post. :D

Been busy with studies and work lately that I couldn't get inspired to write. Not just for this blog either, but also for my (sorta kinda) journaling assignment for one of my subjects. None down, 10 more to go. Bahhhhhh.

Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts...

Friday was JonBon's 19th birthday, so he had his bdayday dindin on Saturday at his place in Bangsar.

Since I had to go for a replacement class in that morning (Class on a Saturday, $!!$!%!%$^#!!), what's a girl to do with 8 hours to kill?

First she camwhored before class.

Teehee, reminds me of the car shot.

Until her friend pointed out a cute drawing of a mosquibee.

Identity crisis. HAHAHAHA. I think only Psych majors will find this really funny.

Then she went shopping! There's a bazaar going on now (today's the last day) at 3K Inn mainly for online shops, and since I was a little skeptical on the quality of the products from one shop, I decided to make a trip there with friends for a look see.

From all the hooha made for the previous bazaars, I felt that it was a big letdown. The entire area was to cramped for comfort (having a gazillion people jostle you when you're trying to see the clothes and having to wait for ages for people to move out of your way...annoying. And how on earth did others camwhore there with so many people pushing them? Zomg..) and although there were a number of blogshops there, their stuff just seem to blend in with one another. The only things that shouted out to me was a gorgeous white lace dress from Style of 8, and the comfy shield heels from Clothesbucket. Sigh. Too bad either the size/price wasn't right. The only thing I bought was a charm bracelet from RoundBean. If I knew earlier, I would have brought my necklace for them to replace the jump rings. Argh!

I think I know where Clothesbucket got their shoes from, but I can't remember the site's URL. :( Hafta wait for my friend to come online!! Gahhhh. (And would it be worth it? Postage kills!)

If and when I mass produce some of my tee designs, I just might open a stall there though. Shopping might have not been fun, but with that volume of people who went for the bazaar, it's rental well worth it.

Kat joined us a little later, and we took public transport back to Wei Lyn's place to freshen up.

I'm thankful I'm still alive. Trying to cross that roundabout near Metropolitan is like an attempt to commit suicide. Luckily I had Penang gals there to guide me. :P

Commute commute commute bus bus bus train train train taxi taxi taxi (haha we were late) freshen up ah mat drove drove drove. *SS moment*

Ended up reaching Jon's place 30 minutes late. :(

Bdayday boyboy!

Bdayday boyboy's daddeh. Zomg *heart heart heart* the wings and lamb ribs!

My 21st Birthday

Ah I miss blogging! My internet connection keeps on breaking up. =( Being busy with assignments, finals (I've a paper on a Saturday. In total, I've at least 8 Saturdays taken from me BOO!) starts in a month and Your Personalitee! is taking it's toll. But at least I'm having fun doing them, and I get to sharpen my 1337 creative skills.

I'm using a whole stack of cash to buy my materials though, and so far only 1 out of 11 orders have been completed (Sending the completed one out either tmrw or Friday. Yay!)

Ok, now back to topic.

I turned 21!

Now I'm 21 years, 4 days 4 hours and 39 minutes old.

March 7th was a happy day, but was also a sad day for me.

Although I got to celebrate my big day with my uni mates as well as my family, my brother couldn't make it back because of work and all my close friends are either overseas, out of town or will know only me if they came. Sigh.

Back to happier stuff.

I had my birthday dinner at Bangsar Tea Club, the same place my mom and her friends had theirs. When I first went in, I loved the fact that the entire place was for just us, and since the price was reasonable I decided to have my dinner there. Helps that mom suggested it too, so I didn't have to worry about the budget breaking the bank.

There wasn't anything much for me to prepare. All I had to do was confirm the guestlist and get ready for the night. Food and drinks were provided by the restaurant (oh oh no corkage fee!) while my mom and sis did everything else for me. Daddy chouffered and ATMed. =D

My initial theme had to be scrapped, and since I couldn't think of anything else to replace it, it became themeless. xP Seriously, birthday + dressing up (for some) + vegetarian steamboat = ?

I was a little surprised that most everyone turned up on time. Ended up waiting for my mom and sis before starting dinner. Oh well.

And now, in no chronological order, pictures! Not going to post up all of them (about 300, in less than 4 hours!) so I just selected some taken from my sister's camera.

Love the attention hehe.

I think that's half the guys in my intake. Seriously. We need more guys in Psych!

Oh and zomb I forgot to wear my bling bling that night! (The ice I normally wear not counted la). I only realised when I reached the restaurant. Regret not booking a place at Zouk too, since I could get their birthday package for free. Mom decided to let me out that night. Sigh, I dropped my hairpin there too, and it's a pretty vintage hairpin too. =( Hopefully they kept it and I can get it back when I return on April 4th. Yes, something else on there on April 4th. You'll know what soon enough. =P

Mirrormask

"... but I'm the queen of evil, and I must warn you, you cannot escape my black magic markers!"

Anyone and everyone who loves modern art and get that kick from finally undestanding what's going on, watch Mirrormask.

It starts of with a sockpuppet play by a young teenager, Helena Campbell. Born into the circus, she lives as part of her father's dream of running a circus. Unlike other children who long to run away and join the circus, she instead wants to live a normal life instead of a performers.

She quarrels with her mother right before a show, who falls ill right before her performance.

And that's where everything typical ends, if it even started.

The entire show is hard to describe beyond it being a little like the story of Alice in the Wonderland. Child is troubled and escapes to an imagined (or is it?) land, meets good and bad characters, searches for a way out but not before she finds the solution to her troubles.

A child's tale, it might seem, but they would probably find it a little hard to understand.

I don't know what exactly, but something in the movie speaks to me. Do watch it if you can.

Unrelated: 21. Coming up next.

Murphy's law

Sigh.

I screwed up my experiment trial run yesterday. Murphy's Law, all the way.

First we forgot to bring a laptop to play the CD, then when we managed to loan one, we couldn't get the drive to open.

When we finally loaded the CD, our lecturer pointed out that we don't have a LOT of things that she wants.

Who ways two heads are better than one? My group has four but still none of us remembered to check the course outline for the list of things to bring.

Once we got the things typed out and printed, she told us that we're still missing something, and that we had to change some things to improve our results.

Trial run starts, and all of us didn't hear her say to run a certain level, so we just ignored the fact that someone forgot about playing the CD.

Once it ended she says "Your trial run is going very badly. Not only did you make me wait 15 minutes for you, but you didn't have everything I wanted and you ran the wrong level. Marks are going to get deducted."

Sigh. Like of course marks were going to get deducted. We screwed practically the whole thing up!

Even the personal asssessment part didn't go so well for me. Because I didn't wholly understand one question, I got a big ass ZERO for that, and an imperfect answer to another lost me another 0.5, so I only got 3.5/5 to make up for for our lousy performance during our trial run.

Double sigh.

I can't believe I screwed up so much in front of a lecturer whom I wanted to impress.

My only consolation is that the whole thing totals to "only" 2% of my entire grade.

Omb that's almost half a grade!

*cries in a corner*

Karaoke Failures

Lol. Should Mariah Carey be happy or sad, I have no idea.

eoeOnline

Remember on my birthday wishlist I asked for RM50 to be charged to your credit card for me to print photos from eoeOnline?

Well, this post is for me to get 50 4R and 2 8R photos printed and delivered... for free!

I actually knew about it even during their 1st review round, but since I was so lazy Imma only writing it now hahaha.

FTI, eoeOnline's a Malaysian company, and it does a lot of things similar to photo printing sites in the US or UK. That means you can upload photos and order your prints, or upload your photos to their online photo album, share it with your family or friends and they can order prints directly from the album!

Coolness right? And since it's a Malaysian company (Beli Buatan Malaysia weh!) not only do they offer cheaper prints (RM0.30 for a 4R print zomg if you go to the physical shops it'll be what, rm0.50?) and cheap delivery charges too. Oh, and if you purchase RM35 or more, delivery is free!

Iyah, if you don't have 120 photos to print like me (wahaha yes a LOT of space in my photo album) you can always share with friends. Cheap ma!

Clicky here to go to their printing page.

Oh, did I mention you can buy cameras from them too, and that they sales and promotions quite often? :D (Eh, a camera's also on my birthday wishlist :D)

Update: Yay! Now, you don't even need a credit card to make your purchases. They accept both online transfers (from Maybank only atm) and even your normal bank in!

Question

Is the ever increasing posts that I complete but leave as draft a sign that I should privatize this blog?

Privacy yes, money no.

Decisions decisions.

30 minutes of boredom and of missing you

Seriously hate not having the two of you with me on my birthday.

video

Just realised

I have 7 days of childhood left.

After that, I am legally an adult with full responsibility.

No more manja-ing with the parentals.

No more "Eh excuse me I'm not an adult yet don't ask me to do."

No more a teenager.

Ah bullshit la. I am still going to manja with the parents, still going to be as childish as I want to, still going to dress whatever way I want, still going to be a.small.kiddo.

Screw growing up. It sucks.
