KNS

1: Still getting the Error 400 message when trying to upload photos to this blog. Funny thing is that I don't get any problems uploading to Blogger from my other account to my blogshop.

2: Despite being one of the top scorers for my assignments in both Psychology subjects, my grades are still shit because of my exam scores.

3: First the class I wanted was full and I couldn't sign up for it. Then I missed the lecture and a tutorial session because I forgot and I had Orientation to manage. Now, after signups for that class reopened, I find out that I missed not only the briefing of what it's all about, how I'll be graded and a lesson, I also missed getting the first assignment which is due on the second and third week. Speech somore (It's the Public Speaking class). Now I'm trying to write an email to the lecturer saying what an idiot I was, and would he be so kind to let me in late. It's Friday night, so I should only get an email on Tuesday at the earliest, since Monday's Independence Day. The next presentation time is on Wednesday morning.

4: I'm $o $o $o $o $o broke.

FML.

Money, money, come again

As opposed to rain, rain, go away.

Sigh.

I used most of this month's budget last month.

Finished the remainder within the first week of this month.

Already used about 50% of next month's budget...

and next month's a schooling month.

T.T

Four days a week.

T.T

Sigh.

Thinking back, I believe most of my budget ended up in my stomach or my brain.

Caught up on my movies this holiday, so that's RM9 a pop multiplied by at least 5 movies.

Been eating so much junk food also since I came down from Mt K, so that's another RM100 or most probably more.

The only things I can remember I bought that will be with me for more than a month would be the two brushes from Etude House, skincare and a new top and skirt. About RM150 gone from there.

So let's see, that's about RM300, excluding a couple of stuff I got online and other cost incurred during my days out. F&B in shopping malls aren't cheap. =(

Not forgetting my club's installation. RM50 and a bottle of Chivas gone there.

T.T

Is it a wonder there's less than RM1k combined in my bank accounts?

Wait.

I'm not sure if there's even RM500.

*Gulp*

Here's to hoping I get the RA job, and that it's paid.

Bad Request - Error 400

Ugh. I've been trying to upload photos on Blogger but every single time I will get the Error 400 message.

No one knows the cause, no one knows how to fix it.

Until then,

Boo!

Mt Kinabalu Expedition - Day One

Waiting for Air Asia's flight AK5120.

Camwhoring in the plane to kill at least part of the 140 minutes we had in it.

Got onto our bus/van/vehicle and camwhored some more.
While others took a nap. In the end almost all 14 of us slept a little while at least. It was a 3 hour journey to Kinabalu Park.

Made a pit stop for lunch.

With supposedly the best fried noodles there. Definitely not the best I've had before, but one of the better ones I had while in KK (no, it wasn't that good, but the rest were sorta bad. That's what you get for a cheap package I guess)

Shopped around for supplies while we were there. Adidas Kampung for RM5, gardening gloves with rubber grip thingies for less than RM2 (RM1.90 a pair if I'm not mistaken). Headlamps, ski masks, raincoats and basically just about all other gear you'll need to climb Mt Kinabalu.

Got into the vehicle again to continue our journey.

Until we finally reached Kinabalu Park.
Most people forget (unless it's all handled by a tour agency) that you need to pay the entrance fee to get into Kinabalu Park.
Malaysian above 18: RM3
Malaysian below 18: RM1
Non-Malaysians above 18: RM15
Non-Malaysians below 18: RM10
Children in school uniform: RM0.50
Senior citizens (not sure what they warrant as senior citizen. Probably 50, 55 or 60): RM1

Toilet break time.
Om num num num.

Missing a couple of folks.

I love fir trees! Too bad they shed too much in the heat and it's such a bother cleaning up all that needles.
Golfing there must be fun with the cool weather.

Got up a really steap road (25 degrees according to the sign) to check in to our lodging, Bishop's Head.

Misty. Cold. No wind. Thank heavens.

Managed by a Singaporean company. What irony.

Buying our much needed and anticipated walking sticks which were basically sturdy sticks that has been smoothened. RM3 per stick, which is the old price. Others will probably charge you RM5 or RM6 for it. We got ours from the guy who drove us in the Park's van.

Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints.
Yea, and I didn't even make it to as far as I pointed. =( I reached only to the highest white square on the map (Sayat-sayat checkpoint)

You I are was here.

Climbed (yes, climbed. The roads there are all so freaking steep!) into our dorm and into the bunk beds. Biggest dorm we had during our trip to Sabah. For our whole trip, we were sleeping in different dormitories every night, and they kept on getting smaller and less comfortable. =(

This is a great place to go with a huge group of friends. We were lucky we didn't have to share the dorm with others. Can easily fit another 14 people comfortably and even more on the floor and couches. Fighting for electrical points will be bad though.

Has a kitchen with a stove, fridge and electric kettle along with the basic cutlery for use. Also has a huge tiled balcony. I would love to have a BBQ session there.

Circular staircase to outside. Never used it though.

Went for dinner even though we had to get drizzled on. Smart me brought an umbrella to use for climb free days. =P Dinner was steamboat. Steaming hot soup in chilly weather = Awesome although all ingredients other than the eggs and vegetables were fresh.

Additional order by Desmond. Looks sooo much better than what we had.

We said good night, but not before snapping a pic of how cold it was. 15.6 degrees Celsius, and that was when we were indoors, away from the rain and wind.

*Disclaimer: Not all the photos are mine. Most are from the other climbers.

Breath in, breath out

It's confirmed. I'm not a sprinter. I'll do better as a long distance person.

Climbed Broga Hill in Semenyih today (more on that later) and hardly half way there I was already short of breath. It felt so bad I really wanted to just sit there and not go up anymore.

I felt worse than when climbing Mt Kinabalu.

Yes, at that point I felt worse climbing that tiny hill than South East Asia's tallest peak.

At first I could feel my calves burning, really burning. That was the first time I felt something was wrong. None of them would allow me to sit there until they come back down, so they waited for me until I felt better then we pushed off again.

I felt that something was wrong with me, but I continued anyway since I felt better after a rest. Less than 15 minutes later, I had to stop again. This time I was feeling very nauseous but nothing came out. Getting the dry heaves is just a little better than actually vomiting. At least the real deal makes you feel better immediately.

I could feel my heart pounding, hard and fast, and my lungs didn't seem to be taking in as much air as usual.

Thank goodness for the rock there and my sister who knew I was really in a bad state then.

I think my bout of the sniffles was worse than I realized. While I was climbing, my nose was dripping constantly, even though I've been "cured" for at least the past week.

I hope it's nothing permanent.

On the bright side, I made it up with the rest and felt better towards the end of the climb as well as the descent (told you I can't be a sprinter. I need to warm up first lol). View wasn't spectacular (hehe nothing here will beat Kinabalu) but at least it was really windy up there giving us a repreive from the humidity.

Gotten most of the pictures from my KK trip already. Be prepared to be awed by the beauty of Nature. =D

(And I might say so myself, damn I can take good pics sometimes, even with that ancient camera and shaky hands. Woot!)

Boycott DLookingGlass !

Do not give your email address to www.dlookingglass.com and be prepared for them to steal your email address from somewhere.

If you want to deal with them, give them the email address you use for spam or be prepared to receive updates from them every now and again, even after you try to get them to remove you from their mailing list.

Nothing works in getting them to stop. Trust me, I've tried everything.

I've emailed them in return dozens of times to get them to stop sending me updates to 2 of my emails. One of them (my spam account) I used to email them and the other's my primary account(which I never gave them before. I only used it on other site's tagboxes a couple of times before).

After ignoring a couple of my emails (from both accounts) they finally replied saying that they will remove my address from their mailing list.

And then I got another email. And another. And another. Again and again they say they'll remove my email addresses but they never do.

I finally couldn't take it any longer and wrote a long long rant to fashion-truth, which they replied saying that they removed my email addresses from their bot emailing list, but there must have been another copy somewhere and so they removed one, but not the other. They also asked me to email them again and that they will manually remove my email addresses.

At first I thought that was it. Finally, I don't have to see their annoying emails ever again (They can be giving out free clothes for all I care. I'm NEVER dealing with them ever again).

Until today.

I got yet another email from them.

Imagine. From March until now, since they changed from http://dlookinglass.blogspot.com/ to www.dlookingglass.com, I've been trying to get them to stop emailing me.

Girls, BEWARE!

WTF?

I couldn't stand it any longer and wrote a reply to that email. A nasty one for my standard with the now oh so beautiful four lettered words sprinkled around.

From my Yahoo account (spam account, so I didn't bother getting them to remove this address as much)

The only time I asked them to remove my spam account which was after their second email. They replied, but I still got emails from them.

This is from my Gmail account, which is my primary account. I use it for important work, so you can see how many times I emailed them to get them to unsubscribe me.

Their first email to me and my reply. I received no reply then.

They finally replied saying they unsubscribed me after my second email to them.

Third time I told them to unsubscribe me, thinking that they just forgot to unsubscribe me.

My email to FT which got published. They replied, giving excuses.

Receiving not 1 but 3 emails from them telling me that they finally removed both my email addresses from their mailing list. But as you can see from the first and third picture, I just got another email from them to BOTH my accounts today.

D Looking Glass, SCREW YOU. I curse you to get nothing but FFK clients for the next 20 years!

Update (17th August 2009):

I got a reply from them a couple of days ago, before I found out how to filter their emails into my Trash bin (can't find a more suitable place for them). Here's their reply, with my comments in red.

Hi Ee Fei,

I know you won’t believe any excuses I make now but I can honestly say that I’ve personally removed every single one of your email addresses from my mailing list since the incident with fashion-truth and I can swear it if you need me too (No, I don't need you to swear, coz now I don't F-ing care! Trash trash trash trash!). However, my partner made a mistake and use the old mailing list to send the last update (WTF, why would you have an OLD mailing list? What's the point in someone asking you to remove their addresses if you're going to keep it somewhere for future reference anyway). I promise you that that will not happen again and I will personally ensure it (Don't bother, I personally ensured it.Trash trash trash trash!) .

Once again, I’m really sorry again for any inconveniences caused and I hope that the next email you send us (if any)(NEVAH!) will be a happier one.

Thanks,

Lydia

On behalf of D Looking Glass

No points for guessing how my mood will be when you say "D Looking Glass".

Unconnected.

Shall be postponing my KK post(s) (more probably the 5 of them) until I've gotten photos and videos from everyone who went. We're supposed to have a potluck regathering to exchange photos but that has yet to happen. Sigh.

Selling all the stuff I'm not using/will never use/horded. I need to replenish my savings if I'm to act on my future travel plans. Also acting as an intermediate in selling accessories. Damn I need the money! Sales on Syiok Sendiri Sisters not going too well also. No one seems to be interested in our older stuff. Everything's in my room at the moment, need to think of a way to keep everything nicely.

Snacking in The Natural Confectionery's gummy snakes. Om nom nom nom fat.

I want to go white water rafting again. I've had a taste (hehe Grade 1 only) and I am wanting more! Someone organize a trip to Kuala Kubu Baru when I have the budget please! I've the shoes already. =P

Might have found my perfect part time work. Need to think of a more efficient transportation plan though.

Dimsum Mari Mari

That's the title that Mae used and it's so perfect I used it to label everything about that day.

As per usual with all DJ gatherings, it was food and bull$hit the whole time.

Just the way we like it.

xD

The difference for that brunch (for me at least) was that I felt very nostalgic then. Finally seeing some of them after what seems like forever, some having gone through drastic and not so drastic changes (We were wondering who on Earth was standing by our table staring at us until Mund shouted "KH!". Yeap. He looks that different).

Random photos:

Part of the carnage. Heeeee. But sigh, why can't dimsum be cheaper. =(

Mishelle's 21st

No, that's not the real spelling for her name, but she likes it. =)

Was at Hotel Vistana in KL. Her family booked the Lumut ballroom since they were also celebrating her sister's sweet 16th that night (which I had no idea of, so I was a gift short. O.O)

Got lost so I ended up being 30 minutes late. Just in time to start eating (:P) but missed the intro slideshow (D:)

Her (and her sister's) parties gives me the greatest stress. First ever party I've attended that had a quiz in it, and there's no way you can cram for it, unless you can time travel. For someone who doesn't know Mish that well, I think I did quite well by playing follow the boyfriend as did everyone else, until we had to close our eyes No more copying! Ahh!.

Her family's the sweetest bunch and her dad's such a romantic. It would be Mr and Mrs Seet's 25th anniversary, so Mr Seet went and secretly made a statuette for his other half, and presented it to her then together will a short speech and a smooch.

Now, everyone cock your head to the left and say Awwwwwwwwwwww.

Forgive the worse than normal pictures. Dim lighting + constant movement + not wanting to disturb with the flash.
